Reiki - An ancient art of wellness

Reiki energy (Chi) is always a pleasant experience, it is non-invasive and can be provided in a number of healing approaches.
The level of Reiki flow in a session with me is totally dependant on you; you naturally dictate the amount of “Chi” to receive; it will only be received when you are ready and willing to receive.

The way in which you experience Reiki varies from person to person and may vary form session to session. It can be felt in the form of either heat, warmth, coldness, goose bumps, or a slight tingling sensation.

Reiki can be experienced in either a slow or rapid free flowing motion, or it can felt in an irregular and uneven motion; how you feel Reiki depends on how in tune we are with ourselves. Some people will only feel sensations with positioning of the practitioner hands positions while others feel Reiki travel to where it is needed in the body. Either way, whether you feel the slightest shift or other, Reiki is a beautiful sensation.

The session does not require any articles of clothing to be removed with the exception of shoes. Comfortable clothing is recommended and a session has a typical duration of 60 to 120 minutes duration with benefits being felt from the end of the session in most cases.

Each position balances energies in that region and is intended remove any idle or stuck energies. Movement across these positions relaxes the body which allows space for your body to rest and heal. Time spent on each hand position will vary based on what if sensed in the session but typically 1-2minutes is an average indication of time spent in one location.

The 5 Reiki Principles

When we learn Reiki, forming part of the curriculum are the principles (some times called ideals or precepts) that have been articulated by Mikao Usui for every Reiki practitioner to incorporate into their day to day lives.

These values have principally been designed to assist us in controlling our emotions and hence investing in the overall health of our body.

You do not have to be a Reiki practitioner to live these principles, but when you live your life according to these five Reiki principles, we experience greater health, happiness and fulfilment in our lives; these principles achieve this by assisting us to reduces stress and tension in our bodies.

  • Worry is an emotion that focuses on possible future outcomes.

It creates unnecessary stress and angst as we spend time pondering on something that may not even eventuate.

The associated stress leads to an imbalance of the mind, body and spirit by becoming resident in the body.

  • Anger is an intense emotional response to a situation. Anger can create severe blockages in one's energy flow within the body.

It is an inner adversary which can accumulate in the body over years and may manifest itself in many forms within the body if left untreated.

Harmony of mind and body will not be possible if anger is not treated and let go.

  • True gratefulness is an emotion straight from the heart, it brings Joy to your Soul.

When we sincerely grateful and compassionate, negative energies just melt away from within.

Just smiling and utilising positive affirmations on yourself or others, greatly increases your wellbeing and health levels.

Learn to keep it simple and be happy.

  • The Soul will truly be at peace when we earn a true and respectful living.

Striving to have a noble life brings richness to heart and much contentment within.

  • Karmatic law tells that “what goes around comes around”, that is, “we get back whatever we give.”

Being kind and showing compassion and love to all living things will have it being returned back to you for a more resolute existence.

This can also be enhanced by respecting your parents and your elders.
